Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2026: What to Expect at FLIBS
There are few events in the yachting calendar quite like the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
From 28 October to 1 November 2026, Fort Lauderdale will once again become a meeting point for yacht owners, buyers, brokers, manufacturers, crew and marine industry professionals from around the world.
Now in its 67th year, FLIBS is recognised as the world's largest in-water boat show, with the 2026 event bringing together more than 1,000 exhibiting brands and an incredible selection of vessels across six locations throughout Fort Lauderdale.
But FLIBS is about much more than boats.
It is where the latest developments in marine technology, luxury yachting, brokerage, watercraft, equipment and the wider marine industry come together — making it one of the most important events of the year for anyone connected to life on the water.
Six locations. One huge yachting experience.
One of the things that makes FLIBS so distinctive is its scale.
The 2026 show stretches across six key locations:
- Bahia Mar Yachting Center
- Hall of Fame Marina
- Las Olas Marina
- Superyacht Village
- Pier Sixty-Six Marina
- Broward County Convention Center
Each area offers something different, meaning visitors can move between new-build yachts, brokerage vessels, superyachts, marine technology, accessories, fishing equipment and personal watercraft.
For those particularly interested in the superyacht market, Superyacht Village is one of the major attractions, while Pier Sixty-Six and Las Olas Marina will showcase an impressive range of larger brokerage vessels.
At the Convention Center, visitors can explore everything from fishing boats and cruisers to marine electronics, diving equipment and personal watercraft.
What's new at FLIBS 2026?
Every year brings something different to FLIBS, and 2026 is no exception.
One of the more unusual additions this year is a floating pickleball court at Las Olas Marina, including a tournament specifically for yacht crew.
The show will also feature the return of the Windward VIP Experience, with two destinations this year — one at Superyacht Village and a newly relocated Cabana Club at Bahia Mar. Visitors can expect gourmet food, premium hospitality and waterfront spaces designed to provide a little respite from the scale of the show.
For families, the Broward County Convention Center will also host activities including FLIBS Kids Corner and the Blue Wild experience, while the Hook the Future fishing clinics return over the weekend.
A showcase of where yachting is heading
For the marine industry, boat shows such as FLIBS provide something incredibly valuable: a chance to see where the market is going.
New yacht designs, advances in marine technology, navigation systems, safety equipment, watercraft and onboard systems will all be on display.
For prospective owners, it is an opportunity to compare vessels and technologies.
For existing owners, it is a chance to discover new equipment, meet industry specialists and perhaps find the next addition to their time on the water.
And for brokers, insurers and other marine professionals, it is an opportunity to meet the people behind the vessels and understand how the industry is evolving.
And then there is insurance...
With so many vessels gathered in one place, FLIBS is also a useful reminder that not every yacht presents the same risk.
Two yachts can have a similar value but completely different insurance requirements.
A privately used yacht cruising seasonally around familiar waters presents a different risk profile from a vessel undertaking extensive offshore cruising.
A yacht used for charter will have different considerations again. Racing, professional crew, higher cruising limits, additional tenders and watercraft, international navigation and extended periods away from home waters can all influence the insurance requirements.
This is why yacht insurance should never simply be about finding the cheapest premium.
It is about understanding the vessel, how it is used, where it operates and the risks associated with the owner's plans.
More than a boat show
FLIBS has become a significant event for the wider marine industry, not simply a place to look at beautiful yachts.
The 2026 show is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors, with the event representing a significant economic contribution to South Florida.
For five days, Fort Lauderdale becomes a hub for conversations about buying, selling, chartering, building, maintaining and enjoying boats.
It is where relationships are built, ideas are exchanged and the next season of yachting begins to take shape.
And for anyone involved in marine insurance, it is also an opportunity to have conversations that go beyond a policy document.
Because ultimately, protecting a yacht starts with understanding how you use it.
Will you be at FLIBS 2026?
Whether you're attending to explore your next yacht, meet with brokers and manufacturers, discover the latest marine technology or simply experience one of the biggest events in the yachting calendar, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2026 promises to be an exciting few days on the water.
